Type K (DS 60884-2-D1) is the Danish standard. The earth pin is flat on one side, which gives the plug its 'smiling face'. Danish sockets accept Europlugs, and since 2011 Denmark also allows the installation of type F sockets, so Schuko sockets are becoming more common. A Schuko or French plug will usually go into a type K socket, but it will not be earthed – use an adapter for grounded appliances.
What it looks like
Two round pins 4.8 mm thick, 19 mm apart, and a half-round earth pin below them.
The drawings are schematic – they show the pin layout, not the exact dimensions of the standard.
Plugs that fit a type K socket
A type K plug also fits
